Dalia’s Tuition Fund

Hello. My name is Dalia Haddad, I’m 24 years old, currently living in Jordan, undergoing a lot of stressful problems and hardships with my studies, as I am in a very bad financial situation.

I study Tourism Management in the University of Jordan, and I am one of the top students, but me working full time in a chocolate store, taking 10 hours of my time just to try to pay most of the fees is affecting my studies as well as it is to my health.. My father can’t work because of old age, and my mother is sick beyond all means being diabetic to a very far stage, affecting her parts and now eyes.

I have been working for 3 years now, trying to pay my university fees, as well as what we can afford for my mother’s surgeries and injections that costs a lot in here. Rent is expensive, and we have been convincing the landlord to take it easy on us and be a little compassionate because of my mother’s situation with the injections as one injection to the eye costs $500 and the last surgery costed $3000 , only God knows how we managed to get the money..

Life in Jordan is very expensive, electricity and even food isn’t as cheap as one claims. Sometimes I eat a single meal a day to try and save up some money for my university, and God knows I have been struggling to undertake all responsibilities, but this is too much for me.

I have been postponing semesters every single year so I can control my financial situation, but even the university warned me that I can’t postpone another semester as it is my last try. I get to work at 9 am and arrive home at 9 pm, trying my best to study in my break, and sometimes in between hours without the manager knowing. All I wanted was to be a normal student, living the normal student’s life as any other student, but life has been hard with me the last 4 years or so.. Any help is fully appreciated, I just need to finish my university and pray everything will be alright.
