Dad’s Check Up, Medication and Overall Recovery

Rodolfo Derecho Jr., is my loving father, husband and pastor of Crosspoint Church in Bohol. He is the head pastor and has pioneered this small church since 2016.

My father is currently suffering from immunocompromised health, no appetite, extreme weight loss, having a hard time breathing at times and can barely talk due to constant fatigue and has been isolated to make sure he is not affected by covid-19 in the Philippines.

In 2019, my father was misdiagnosed with Tuberculosis by one of the doctor's in Bohol. He was given one of the TB medications for a full month's worth and was experiencing some form of allergic reaction to the drug which is slowly destroying his liver and other organs. When his health had a sudden decline, he was rushed to the ER and he was told that he was taking overdosage on a drug that was supposedly only good for a week and it affected his entire body, it was also when he found out that he was misdiagnosed. He got into debt due to the 2 days of admission he was in where he almost died from the misdiagnosis, he had to pay $1,600 (above 76,000 PHP) to the hospital or he would accumulate more bills if he could not discharge. This debt is still yet to be paid.

Due to covid situation, his declining health that was not followed up due to the cost, no salary from his job and his wife losing her job as well in Dubai, he is currently in need of you kind support.

The Future goal:

- He needs to get checked urgently by a pro-patient doctor which is currently rare in the pandemic situation where he will not be misdiagnosed without checking all the probable causes. His health is getting weaker and he needs to get a check up soon.

-Pay off the initial medical bills

-Get admitted if needed and have the money to buy medications that can save his life.

The fund will eventually get my father back on his feet and be free from debt from the medical costs of his misdiagnosis. He will also be able to buy maintenance drug to make sure that his health will not decline further without medication. We will make sure all the funds will go to his recovery.
