Campaign Story
HOW THE BIG C BEGUN. It started one day from a small insect bite and itch at his right leg. My father grew an not so ordinary wound that could not be healed. Since He was diabetic, we did not had any thought that his case will be much serious than this. Biopsies and further medical tests revealed, that there underneath the skin lies a case that had started a little long time back not showing any manifestation. An abnormal growth of skin cells developing into painful lesions. My father Jun Ledina was diagnosed with Cancer of the Skin on the year 2012.
From this year, he had went into a series of operations and radiations within the interval of two and half to three years gap each. My father will be cleared from cancer at one point and will again be diagnosed after another.
By the year 2017, our family was able to breathe at last knowing again that he is cleared. Slowly he went back living again his life free from medical appointments, tests, radiations, needles and pain. By the age of 70+ the my father never stops to praise god and be thankful for this miracle. He continues to be the man of the house. He gladly went back serving his purpose to voluntarily help people in need within the family and his friends as what he was used to do before.
FEBRUARY 2019. My father started to feel a little difficulty and pain from his operated leg. We went back to do series of tests and found out that everything regarding that was cleared. He begun to have gastro-intestinal problems every once in awhile and un-explainable pain at the his back. He started crying every single night for the pain that he cannot endure even with the prescribed pain relievers. initial findings shows all was spinal arthritis.
JUNE-JULY 2019.More longer days and nights he had to endure this unbearable pain. One night he was rushed into the Hospital. Series of tests and clinical report gave us the this time a clear vison of his suffering.
He was diagnosed with INTER-VERTEBRAL DISC METASTATIC CARCINOMA.These was a spread of cancer cells from one body to another that has now formed SPINAL TUMORS. That leads to a painful paralysis when not treated.
THE BATTLE CONTINUES. It has been genuinely inspirational to see my Dad still trying to continue to live each day with full strength and love.It has truly been a blessing, as we grew in love as a family and in turn but the coming days are gonna be tougher and sadder; dealing with the difficulties of cancer is a grueling endeavor for anyone who has been touched by it.
It is heartbreaking to watch a strong man slowly being deteriorated by so much pain and sickness. Until his last try to pull himself to stand up.. and until now that he longer cannot.
A DREAM WITHOUT THINKING TO SURRENDER. Coping with METASTATIC CANCER, survival is never a clear goal even with today's better treatments that institutions offer. However, as his daughter it will be forever a hope and a dream without thinking to surrender to any single chance and possibilities that I could do.
A FEW MORE GOOD QUALITY OF LIFE. My Dad is celebrating his 77th Birthday this September 30th. I humbly knock on your hearts to help me to provide him is a little bit more of hope and lesser days of pain as we go through this battle facing a road that is unsure to lead us where. I admit, I am in my own battle with time that I cannot loose a second of it.
Together we have face another enormous round of treatment including Chemotherapy and Radiation and medications given through mouth and IVs.Together with this he requires to have a daily full dose of pain killer and other medications and hospitalizations.
At this point, I am reaching out for help. Currently, I am just happy to accept any amount you and/or your family is willing to donate, should you wish to help us through this time. I still cannot loose him.
Thank you for taking the time to read/share this and thank you in advance for your help should it be financially or even emotionally. On behalf of the Valdez-Ledina family, we would like to extend all the love and light to you and your families.
