Daddy/Daughter Mission Trip

Family and Friends,

Hey there everyone I pray that you are all doing well. I wanted to share with each of you about an opportunity coming up for Brye and I in the next couple of months and ask you to consider how you may be able to partner with us to make an impact in the lives of others. 

The picture above of Brye and I was taken back in 2011 on a mission trip we both had the opportunity to go on together. We were able to go together with a group from our church and minister to people in the Appalachia area of Kentucky and help meet some immediate needs people had there as well as be a part of meeting future needs as well. Our team was able to partner with a church in that area to do clothing drives for the community, be a part of distributing food through their ministry and also building relationships between that church there and the community. Not only that but we lent a helping hand in the construction of a learning center there in the community that is up and operational today that serves the families in that area. That was Brye's first mission trip experience and the impact in her was amazing. That trip opened her eyes to those who are hurting and led her to be filled with compassion for others. She truly was able to understand what Jesus meant when He said to His people, "You are the salt of the earth," and, "You are the light of the world." She was able to see how powerful it can be to carry the love of Christ out into a broken world and we both want to continue living that not only here in our local community but we want to be a part of impacting the lives of others wherever God leads. 

In light of this both Brye and I have been praying and have decided to partner with our church and Team Impact to go back out on mission again into Washington DC this summer. There we will be partnering with churches from all over the United States to make an impact in the Washington DC area by ministering to the homeless, doing neighborhood clean ups, sharing Christ with people in the community and whatever else God leads us to. We are excited for the opportunity and want to ask for each of you to prayerfully consider how you can be a part of this effort. There are a couple of things we'd like you to consider. 

First we are looking for people to partner with us by committing to pray for us. Both Brye and I need your prayers for protection in our travels and while we are there, we want prayers for opportunities to share Christ with others and prayers that God would provide all that we need to be able to make this trip possible. Also we are looking for support financially. The total amount Brye and I need to raise to go is $660.00. As we have our meetings over the next few weeks leading up to this trip we have increments of money due until the full amount has been turned in. So these are two important ways in which we are hoping to receive your support. 

Jesus said this in Matthew 5....

"You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
