Deborah Cannon Wolfe Elementary is a Title I school  located in Shorter Alabama just 20 miles outside of Montgomery Alabama. Our student body consist of 120 students. Our school provides a setting that is very unique...everyone feels like family.  Addiitonally, we operating with very limited resourcses which does not offer us many opportunities to provide extraordinary experiences for our students. We want our students to excel above and beyond our expectations which is where you come in. We would greatly appreciate your help in assisting us in sponsoring three or four activities this school  year. With the funds donated, (1) we would like to bring the world to our children by taking them on a trip around the world. The destinations they would have an opportunity to visit would include: Mexico, Japan, Italy, South Africa, India, China, Brazil, Panama, France and Israel.  Since many of our students have not been outside their immediate community, we would like to broaden their horizon by bringing  the world to them. They would first make passports and learn the importance of having one.  Next, they will learn facts about each country which would include the ( language, culture, celebrations, food, children, clothing, weather, and where each country is  located on a world map, etc).  visit eaThey will then  visit each  country (classroom), see exhibits and taste food from that country.  This activity would cost approximately for all materials and food about $1,000.00. (2) The next activity would be for the family and community to participate with the students . It will be a movie on the lawn. We would rent a inflatable movie screen and have a movie night for the entire family and community to participate.  This would take place out on the lawn of D.C. Wolfe Elemantary school. The cost of this activity would be approximately $500.00. Last, we would like to expose our seniors ( 6th graders) to a senior trip. Atlanta, Geaorgia is only aout 2 hours away and is full of activities for the children to gain positive exposure. We would like to transport them to Atlanta, let them experience a stay in a very nice hotel, eat at a five star reasturant, visit the High museum and the Atlanta Aquarium. This would be an experience they would never foret. The purpose of this advanture would be to let them see first hand beyond the communty they see each and eveyday.  This activity would cost about $6,000.00. If we raised enough and or extra, we would also like to take 2 students from each class one that improved the most academically. The other that improved in their behavior during the school year. This would incourage them to aways do their best even if they are not A, B honor roll students. Now you can help us achieve our dreams by making a liberal donation to our school. No donation is to small or to large. We would appreciate whatever you can provide. Our ultimate goal is to broaden their minds and imagination and help them realize the world is at their feet. Thank you, in adavance, for your asistance. Please help us give these students an experience of a lifetime.   With kind regards, Contrina Ocampo President -D.C. Wolfe P. T. A.
