D.C Bound

Students at Scio Middle School have an incredible opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. and New York in the Summer of 2015. This trip will bring their history lessons to life as they walk in the footsteps of influential past and present leaders and learn about the events that shaped our nation. In Washington, D.C., they will walk the hallways of the Capital, lay a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery's Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and explore the amazing exhibits of the Smithsonian Museums. This adventure will be so much more that a typical history field trip. This trip is designed to enhance social studies curriculum while gaining a deeper understanding of history. In New York the students will experience the excitement of New York City while walking through Times Square, seeing a Broadway show, or taking a backstage tour of NBC Studios. They will also walk in the footsteps of our country's early immigrants at Ellis Island and enjoy some of the world's best shopping on Fifth Avenue.
