Tropical Cyclone Mocha made landfall on May 14th in Myanmar, hitting Bangladesh and Myanmar hard.

In Lailenpi village, Chin State, 223 houses were damaged; the cyclone also destroyed food supplies and other consumables for people in the village. There is currently no aid going to this village to help with rebuilding efforts.

I am raising money to send to the people in Lailenpi and surrounding areas to help with short-term survival and long-term rebuilding - any donation you are able to spare will be distributed directly to the people who need it most.

"Myanmar: Almost 5.4 million people are estimated to have been in the path of the cyclone. Of these, nearly 3.2 million are considered to be most vulnerable to the cyclone impact based on analysis of shelter quality, food insecurity and coping capacity. More than 1,200 houses are reported to be completely or partially destroyed in townships across Chin. (OCHA, 16 May 2023)"

Thank you so much for your donations. We have now sent a second tranche of funding through to families in Chin State, Myanmar. The above picture shows one of the families receiving some money. The families used the money to buy materials to rebuild their homes - nails, timber and metal. . . . .
