Dear Madam/Sir,
I am a year 10 student at the Archer Academy in East Finchley. I am a keen cyclist and cycle to school everyday. I would like to be able to purchase 4 or 5 second hand bikes for my school. The bikes would be used:
- by students who can't afford a bike to enable to them to join the cycling club. It would benefit them in many ways, their physical and mental health, as well as socially.
- by teachers to use between sites as I am trying to discourage them from using their cars. I have asked teachers and they said they would be happy to cycle if there were bikes for general use. It would benefit their health, the environment and the local community by reducing traffic on the road and the resulting pollution.
The budget I need is £1000.
The Archer Academy is a new community school based in East Finchley with a higher than average number of disavantaged children compared to the rest of the Borough of Barnet.
