MusicaLipa & City of Voices Chamber Singers 2023 International Competitions

We, MusicaLipa and the City of Voices Chamber Singers, are mixed choral groups based in Lipa City, Batangas and Mandaluyong City since 2012 and 2018, respectively. Both founded by our conductor, Mr. Jayron D. Rezaba, an alumnus of the world-renowned and multi-awarded University of Santo Tomas Singers, we aspire to be ambassadors of the world-class talent and culture that the country possesses, not only locally but also internationally.

MusicaLipa started as a church choir with little to no musical background, serving at the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Parish in Lodlod, Lipa City, but with one goal and passion, they emerged to be one of their hometown’s premier choirs. Last 2019, MusicaLipa embarked on its first international competition at the 12th Orientale Concentus in Singapore, where they successfully won Gold Prize for Chamber Category, Category Winner and Gold Prize for Mixed Category, and a spot as a Grand Prix finalist.

Established in 2018, City of Voices Chamber Singers (CVCS) is composed of students and working adults around Metro Manila who have immense passion for choral singing. Before the pandemic, CVCS won their first award and was hailed grand champion in Himig Pinoy Paskong Pilipino 2019, a local choral competition in Lipa City.

Last year, both choirs staged a back-to-back collaboration concert, “Volare: The Anniversary Concert of Two Choirs”, in celebration of MusicaLipa’s 10th anniversary and CVCS’ 4th anniversary, held last November 26 at the PETA Theater Center, Quezon City, and December 4 at Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Parish Church in Lodlod, Lipa City. After being one of the eight invited choirs at “Amor Y Amistad: The UST Singers’ 28th Anniversary Concert” in 2020, this was their second stage together.

This year, we are on a mission to bring pride to the Philippines as we embark on this musical journey of competing in Asia and Europe.
