Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma Treatment Fundraiser

My name is Gerald Maujean and I am a 61 year old South African male that emigrated to Thailand three years ago. This move marked my retirement as I am unable to work in Thailand. I was diagnosed 15 months ago by one of the best lymphoma specialists internationally with Cutaneous T-cell lymphoma which is an incurable cancer. At first when seeking medical advice I was told that what I was struggling with was merely a rash, but it has turned out to have life altering effects.


The reason that I am fund-raising is because I do not have medical cover for the treatment of the lymphoma I am suffering from. The cost of diagnosis plus the global economic trend has depleted my reserves for this type of expense. Due to being unable to work and having children to support, it leaves me in a stressful financial situation with regards to affording long-term treatment.

My recommended treatment is dependent upon response and because of this may vary between UVA light treatment, electron beam therapy and if the condition deteriorates substantially, it will require chemo-therapy.

This type of cancer is not curable and thus will be with me for life, however it is treatable. After the initial treatment which will end in 18 months time, maintenance treatment will be required less frequently and the cancer should be under control.


I will need the funds supporting the financial burden the cost of this treatment poses for the duration of the next 18 months in order to assist me paying for my treatment. These funds will enable me to have the treatment I require and alleviate the financial burden from my loved ones.
