Barbaro F Medina here with an invitation to help me in make possible the participation of my son Roberto Medina Correa in the One Young World Summit 2016, Ottawa, Canada 28 September - 1 October
One Young World are a UK-based charity that gathers together the brightest young leaders from around the world, empowering them to make lasting connections to create positive change.
They stage an annual Summit where the most valuable young talent from global and national companies, NGOs, universities and other forward-thinking organisations are joined by world leaders, acting as the One Young World Counsellors.
At the Summit, delegates debate, formulate and share innovative solutions for the pressing issues the world faces.
Roberto Medina Correa, a Cuban young agricultural engineer, was selected to participate as Independent Delegate in The One Young World Summit 2016, Ottawa, Canada 28 September - 1 October.
Roberto is 26 years old Instructor at the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering at Central University of Las Villas, Cuba. He can guide and direct his students and promote a change in the future generation and achieve sustainable development in agriculture. He is a passionate about the design of new technologies and innovation in the agro-industrial sector and have great interest in the professional development of new energy sources such as biogas and bio-fuels.
He participated as active members in the initiatives Recreate, CYEN (Caribbean Youth Environment Network), and ProNaturaleza. He collaborate to create space to share and socialize with other young people in Cuba Cuban good practices in the field of adaptation to climate change and youth leadership.
He plans for the next two years are continue working as a university professor to train future young professionals with a vision of change and youth leadership and finish a Masters in Agricultural Engineering.
The participation of Roberto in The One Young World Summit 2016, Ottawa, Canada is of great importance for the following reasons:
It will allow many young people around the world have a direct reference to the life experiences of young people of Cuba at a time of economic change and social change.
Exchange ideas and results with other youth around the world related to food production and sustainable development of farming communities.
Roberto will receive a different vision to solve social problems, adaptation to climate change and get a stronger training to convey that knowledge to their students
Roberto receiving salary for the job as an instructor in Cuban University does not permit sustain participation as an independent delegate at The One Young World Summit 2016.
In order to make Roberto‘s participation possible, we are raising funds to pay his delegate fee (£2,655 )
My baseline goal is to raise $3,000. We would love to have you help with this. No amount is too small -- $5, $20 -- or, of course, too large.
Thank you for your support :)
