My name is Ewa and I am a biology student at Imperial College London. I have been given the amazing opportunity to volunteer as a research assistant in Cuba during the summer of 2017, as part of a conservation scheme by Operation Wallacea (Opwall). Opwall’s work in Cuba focuses on reef fish surveys, shark tagging and manatee research. Thanks to Opwall, 31 new species have been discovered and several important publications were made.

Where does the donation go?
- Expedition fee, directly for Opwall's conservation schemes, and protection of new and known species! By helping me raise funds for this project, you are directly contributing to saving fragile ecosystems of our planet!
- Transport to Cuba from Europe (airplane fees to Havana, boat to Isla de la Juventud)

I would be extremely grateful for assistance in raising funds for this incredible opportunity and will gladly share experiences and photographs from remote, tourist-free areas of Cuba seen through the eyes of a field biologist! Any donation, big or small means the world to me :)
