On 8 Oct morning, the stray kitten was found in the middle of a busy road near Tampines Central 7. It was suspected to have been hit by a car or motorbike and was left on the road alone struggling for its life, while vehicles from the heavy morning traffic were trying to swerve and avoid hitting it again.
When we picked the kitten up from the road to the roadside, it was so visibly distraught and frightened that it was hissing and meowing non stop. It was dragging its hind legs around, while meowing in agony and pain. Hence we decided to rush him to the nearest clinic for immediate medical care.
The kitten was found to have multiple fractures on its hind legs and hip dislocation. It had to have immediate operation on 9 Oct afternoon to rectify the dislocation and fractures to minimise further damage to its bones and muscles. The operation went well thankfully. Even though its growth plates have been affected by the car accident, the kitten still has a good chance of recovery.
Amidst all the fluster (for both the kitten and us human), we are glad the stray kitten's life is saved. This kitten deserves another shot in life, just like any one of us.
We are asking for contributions for this stray kitten's medical bills (for his surgery and hospitalisation needs),which is costing around $3,400. We will also be looking into its rehoming needs next.
If you feel for this injured stray kitten which has been fighting really hard for its own life in these few days, please help us make a donation. Any amount is deeply appreciated.
Thank you, once again.
Love,
Lionel & Heidi
