My name is Sean Minnaar. I am an Integrated Airline Transport Pilot Licence student at 43 Air school in Port Alfred. My journey started at the tender age of 15 when I took off in a little piper warrior well known in the Cape Town Airspace by the Registration of ZS-PZM. I had been a student in High school at the time but was extremely happy that I had logged my first hour at such a young age. My father had seen the passion and supported me in the decision to commence pilot training despite being young as I was. I thereafter started flight training at the Cape Town Flight training Centre based in Fisantekraal Airfield towards my Private Pilots Licence. At 17 I managed to fly my first solo flight and had requested a Job shadow from the well know local domestic carrier Mango Airlines. Upon request the Airline was kind enough to grant me access to sit in the jump seat from Cape Town International Airport (FACT) to Durban/King Shaka International Airport (FALE) in the Boeing 737-800,ZS-SJG. After completion of the Flight I was completely mesmerized and the occupation I wanted to pursue had been confirmed that day!

I had friends whom I had known, sponsored by South African Airlines and Execujet studying at the 43 Air school and thereafter branching out and working for various Airlines and charter companies around the Globe. Word amongst many of the Airline pilots was ‘The place to go is 43 Air school’. I had seen as they say; ’The proof is in the pudding’ and 43 delivers world renowned pilots, many whom represent our Local Domestic and International Airline Carriers.

I was on the brink of matriculating when my dad had decided that he would stop working in order to take out his pension for me to fulfill my dream of training at the 43 Air school towards my Airline Transport Pilot License. A leap of faith indeed!

I transferred from Cape Town to 43 Air school and commenced my training on the 19th June 2017. I am extremely proud to be part of the 43 Air school and to be trained by the Industry Leader in Aviation. I have completed all of my Airline Transport Examinations and am left with 15 Flights to obtain my Commercial pilot licence!

In order to alleviate the burden of funding on my single father who is supporting me in my aviation endeavor, I have and am actively seeking any means which can assist me in reducing the burden of funding upon him. I’m appealling to anyone to assist me in funding towards my Airline Transport Pilot Licence; any assistance will be kindly and greatly accepted. I can assure you I aim to make a difference in the Aviation Industry. I’m appealling to anyone who is are reading this to join me and assist me on this endeavor in Aviation.
