Critical Hip Replacement Surgery for Donna – Help her in the fight

In Feb 2014, 32-year old Donnadelle Manguiat was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease / Chronic Kidney Disease (Stage5). It came as a shock as this young lady was sentenced to life-long hemodialysis, with very little chance of ever getting a kidney donor.

For the last 7 years (and counting), Donna goes 3 times a week for dialysis. The cost of treatment is not cheap, but Donna continues to fight, working to earn money (even with her condition), refusing to be a burden to her family and friends.

On July 2020, she was hospitalized for severe back pain and diagnosed with an osteoporotic fracture. Years of dialysis has taken its toll - then 38-year old Donna now has the bones of an 80-year old person.

Last Aug 30 2021, her bones gave out and she fell on her back, shattering her hips. Doctors are requiring hip replacement procedure, failure of which will render her bedridden for the rest of her life, risking complications to her heart, lungs and other internal organs.

The operation would cost PhP 600,000 at Capitol University Medical Center, Cagayan de Oro City. But it will enable Donna to, if unable to stand again, at least sit-up. She needs to do at least that, so she can continue to live and work, and be there for her family.
