In 2017, Travel and Sport & JHB WEST u/13 Cricket Night Series Tournament is embarking on

a bold new initiative of rewarding the Top u/13 cricket players that got selected for the JHB

WEST u/13 INVITATIONAL CRICKET TEAM with the opportunity of embarking on a journey

that will not only broaden their horizons, but also offer them a multitude of new prospects

abroad.

In Dec 2017, we are offering Coach Jan Ackerman from Laerskool Dr. Havinga whom

has been selected as one of the coaches, the chance to accompany his players from across

Gauteng on an organised cricket tour to Sri Lanka. The Invitational cricket side was selected

out of 14 primary schools from across Gauteng, over 140 x players participated in the JHB

West u/13 Cricket Tournament. This is a remarkable achievement.

They will visit the following countries & cities:

  • SRI LANKA – COLOMBO, KANDY, HIKKADUWA
  • The tour has been specifically constructed to expose the participants not only to the sport

    essence of the peoples and offerings of Sri Lanka, but also the prospective opportunities

    available to them. The tour may also serve as an incentive to those with ambitions of future

    success and as a reward to those who achieve it.

    Together with visits and tours of these cities, students will be provided with the opportunity

    to play matches against Sri Lanka’s best Top Cricket Colleges and schools.
