Creature – a photography zine

CREATURE

Creature is a photography project by Chadlee Skrikker and Kobus du Plessis - a loose narrative depicting three classic creatures: vampires, aliens, and ghosts.

Our aim is to create cinematic, beautiful images with personality and atmosphere. We want to utilise our love of film as well as our filmmaking experience to create a purely visual exploration of these mythical beings.

The entire project will be shot on 35mm film, delivered as a 16-20 page zine, available in print as a limited run, as well as being included as a reward for certain contributors.

REWARDS

CREATURE FEATURE - $10

You receive a credit.

CREATURE OF HABIT - $20

You get two randomly selected 4×6 prints from the project.

CREATURE OF AN HOUR - $30

You get a copy of the zine and two small prints.

CREATURE OF THE NIGHT - $60

You get the zine, as well as four small prints and two 8×10 prints.

CREATURE COMFORT - $120

We will send you two copies of the zine, four large prints and six small prints!

All contributors to the project will receive credit on the back cover of the zine, regardless of amount given.

BUDGET

The money raised will be split somewhat equally across the equipment, consumable, and production/post-production costs that this project will incur.

The budget will be spent on the following:

• Film stock
• Film development and processing
• Zine printing
• Lighting and grip gear
• Travel/fuel costs
• Craft and catering

Additional costs include:

• Photograph printing
• Postage costs
