Hi, my name is Daniel Nortje. I am a Creative Brand Communications student and I study at Triple-A School of Advertising. I am from a small country just at the tip of Africa called South Africa. I am currently 21 years old and seeking a helping hand to further my career and ongoing passion for graphic design.

Around the age of 15, I picked up graphic design. I thought that it would be something to keep me busy on the weekends and after dropping cricket and soccer as my sports I felt that I had nothing better to do. I soon got sucked into a Twitter design community where I learned how to operate software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects and so much more! I had asked my grandparents if I could build a computer so that I could feel out my new found passion. Every weekend I would wake up excited to hop on the community to see what was trending and then I would open up Adobe and start creating, but those were much simpler times.

At the age of 17, I graduated from learning photo manipulation inside of photoshop; editing videos and adding effects in after effects, and using illustrator and InDesign to create magazine mockups. Things got slow and a bit boring but the wonderful world of 3D and CAD software would soon flip my world upside down. I ventured through the rabbit hole of 3D motion and animation and I absolutely fell in love with it.

I am trying to bridge the gap between brands and the world of 3D. I am actively trying to use these tools I've found to create unique and awesome creative solutions for brands trying to get their products into the hands of consumers. I am extremely passionate about my work but unfortunately, these kinds of things are extremely costly in my country.
One US Dollar is equivalent to 14,40 Rands where I live. That's enough money to buy a loaf of bread! One Euro is equivalent to 16,03 Rands!

It is here where my difficulties lie. I have found out the tough way that my PC build is just not up to standards for me to go into the industry with and even if it was I still would be forced to continue using software that is pirated or cracked which leads to me never getting the best results for my work. For example, I am currently working on a CG short but my computer takes 4 days to render a four-second clip and sometimes my shots don't come out how I would like them to look.
I have researched tirelessly to find the best fitting PC and software license options for me. In total looking to reach R40 000. This cost would cover a one-year subscription for my software tools and viable PC upgrades.

Look, I'm not expecting much this was kind of the last resort, I've never needed "charity" so to speak and I do have a loving family that supports my every move. But with the current R80,000/per year university fees, it would be too much of a big ask and that's why I have turned to the go fund me community. Any help would be greatly appreciated and by donating you would be lending a helping hand to a student who's only desire is to change the world, one person, at a time through design and the visual arts!

Please let's chat about this! Allow me to give you some more information about my situation and how you could possibly help!
