Creating Healthy Smiles

“Creating Healthy Smiles” was established by the CSUB Pre-Dental club in December 2011 with the purpose of promoting oral hygiene among K-2 students including those with special needs in Kern County. We want to obtain financial support to give each child a set of dental hygiene supplies in this manner attaining our goal of promoting more extensive preventive oral care. Moreover, we will remedy the need for an organization dedicated to teach students the importance of proper oral hygiene.

Our program continues to grow on a daily basis, starting with one volunteer we have grown to 40 volunteers in 11 months and have taught 1,800 children. Thus far we have received generous donations from the Kern County Dental Society, United Way of Kern County, the Kern Community Community Foundation, and support from our volunteers. With the current demand, we are running out of supplies and any help is greatly appreciated.

Donations are used to provide dental kits to each child. A dental kit includes tooth brushes, dental floss, and tooth paste. Each dental kit cost approximately 1 dollar.

With your donation, we will be able to reach more children in order to reach our goal of 6,000 children this year.
