BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA
To Whom It May Concern;
I began my scouting adventure at age 6 with the Cub Scouts, and at 11 moved up to Boy Scouts. I am now a Life Scout having completed the required 21 merit badges, held several positions of responsibilities, and been very active with the growth of our troop and its activities. My long journey is now at the point where I am working toward earning the highest and most honored rank in Scouting, that of Eagle Scout.
To earn Eagle rank I must plan, develop, and provide leadership to others in a service project helpful to the community; therefore, for my Eagle Scout Project, I have chosen Faith Community Homes as my beneficiary. Faith Community Homes assists displaced families both financially and materially after hardships. One of the areas in which they help families is placing them into affordable housing. They rely on volunteers to help supply items that are needed to get them started on the right path once they are placed; however; the volunteers are not always able to accommodate the requests. So, I have worked with Faith Community homes to come up with a list of items that are needed and plan to make care packages that will be given to each family when they move into their new home. The care packages will consist of custom built tool box with small tools, first aid kits, office supplies, and bath/kitchen towels.
It is a big project that will require many hours of labor and approximately $2500 in materials, of which I have already raised $1,000. As part of my project, I am required to request donations to fund materials necessary for construction of this project. Any financial assistance you can offer to help me achieve my goal of completing this project will be greatly appreciated. No amount is too small, and in the unlikely event any funds remain after the project is finished, they will go directly to Faith Community Homes.
Checks can be made out to Troop 182. I thank you in advance for anything that you can contribute to this worthy cause.
Yours in Scouting,
