Please help me save my village – Green Business – Spasi moje selo!

My name is Mario, I am 28 years old and I come from the poorest part of Croatia, Slavonia.

My goal:

I want to save my village from extinction. My goal is to employ at least 5 young unemployed people from Slavonia and prevent them from emigrating to Germany, Ireland or another country.

How:

By production and marketing of biological wine!

What do I need for this:

1. At least 5 hectares of land
2. Construction of a winery
3. Tractor, wine press, wine barrels, and other machines needed for the production.
4. Webshop and marketing

When should the project start:

January 2022

How did I come up with this idea:

I am a "Gastarbeiter-child". We emigrated after the war in Yugoslavia due to the economic consequences and have been immigrants for 20 years. Already as a child I dreamed of moving back to Croatia and to enable people to work and live well in their own country. Because life in Western Europe is not as easy as you think. You can realize oneself professionally, but you always remains a foreigner (im my case a so-called Jugo) and the nostalgia will never disappear.
The biggest problem why it is so difficult to find a good job in Croatia is corruption. Or to put it another way, if you are not a member of HDZ / SDP, you can forget it right away.

My idea is maybe only a small contribution to a better Croatia, but I am sure that I will motivate other people to stay in Slavonia and help to lead our country in the right direction.

Why wine production:

1. Slavonia is a wine region
2. The climate is ideal and many varieties of grapes thrive even without pesticides
3. My dad has been a winemaker for over 30 years and therefore has the necessary know-how to support us in the initial years
4. Everybody loves good wine! :D

How will you keep us up to date:

Social Media - A Youtube channel or a Blog that will accompany us from the beginning.

Are you also open for other plans:

Yes, of course. - I am an all-rounder, I know how to program CNC machines, have worked as a service technician and quality manager, but I also love gardening and agriculture.

Why 1 Million Euro:

I know, it is a huge amount, which none of us have.
I don't want to make a profit from this money, because I already live in a country where people earn more than enough. It concerns me much more to be able to pay from the beginning a good salery to my employees and to motivate them in Croatia to remain. Besides, it takes at least 3 years before we make the first money and therefore, if sales are good, we can become independent.

How much should you donate:

1 euro is more than enough. If you can want to donate more, you can of course do so, but it is not mandatory. Much more important than every euro are your support and suggestions what I can improve to reach my goal.
