We seek to raise fund for the Orphans and the needy in Uganda. Amidst the pandemic, I believe we can contribute through online giving to help them build their livelihood. It's more blessed to give than to receive, your small contribution will go a long way to Creamsite Orphans in Uganda.
Aim of Fundraise
The main aim of this fundraise is to help the orphanage to kickstart self-sustaining projects so that they would not have to keep relying on outsider's help, especially in times of the pandemic lockdown. We aim to help them set up an income generating project that can bring in daily income to support the orphanage and make it self sufficient. As the saying goes:
"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."
This is a follow-up campaign after their first lockdown in February which lasted for several months--as a result their main providers of the orphanage were not able to work and hence lost all income. Unfortunately, the government did not provide any assistance amidst the tough situation in their area, the soldiers would beat them if they try to move out of the compound. The 47 orphans and the social worker were starving at home, while the social worker could only request for help through online but to no avail as this orphanage (Creamsite Orphanange Ministry) did not have any official page at that time, which we managed to raise some funds to sustain their daily necessity.
Our hope and prayer for this fundraise is so for the self-sustaining projects to come to pass, with that they could grow and eventually break out poverty.
About the Orphanage
Creamsite Ministry Uganda is located in a village in Kampala District Central Uganda (East Africa). It is a Community Based Organization (CBO) founded by late Ssentongo Anorld that started with 12 orphans and now it has increased to 47 orphans, but some left to their relatives/foster homes for the time being due to the Covid-19 situation, leaving with the current 34 orphans in the home.
In light of the COVID-19, Uganda has been facing several rounds of lockdown. Just earlier in the month (June 11), the government announced another round of 42 days lockdown and kept on extending although now it eased it.
