COVID19 – Help us save our business and jobs – Atlantic Elmadre

We are appealing to anyone that has something to spare to help this business survive the Covid 19 Lockdown and save jobs. Atlantic Elmadre is a small, community based Fast Food Restaurant in Nelspruit, South Africa. On the 6th of May we would have been operating for 6 years. We employ 10 young people from less privileged backgrounds, all of which are the sole bread winners for their families. The goal is to keep the business afloat during this 5 week lockdown and more importantly keep the staff employed so that they can continue to provide for their families.

Many people ask how 5 weeks could threaten the survival of a business. The truth is that margins in the industry are low and a loss of income over 5 weeks is simply not sustainable.

Our goal is to keep the business sustainable and most importantly avoid having to let staff go. Funding will go directly to staff to provide them with a stipend to be able to afford bare essentials during the lockdown and towards the first month salaries when the lockdown is over.

This platform is a last resort and we hate to ask. But we will not go down without a fight and appeal to our patrons and friends and anyone willing to contribute.

Please help us keep our staff employed and compensated so that they have a job to come back to and so they can continue to provide for their families.Cant wait to get back to work and see our loyal customers again.

To show our appreciation we will issue vouchers to the value of 25% of all donations. These vouchers can be redeemed at our restaurant until the end of the campaign.
