Following the successful COVID supplementary voucher campaign, which supported 22 households in need, we are now hoping to raise funds for the purchase of 200 masks for low-income community members. We have selected the two of the COVID hotspot areas (Dunoon and Philippi).
This mask initiative is in response to South Africa’s gradual re-opening of the economy and the easing some of the lockdown regulations. We have identified a dire need for masks for bread winners, who need to get back to work, but also need to be protected during their daily commutes on public transport.
This initiative will also support a small mask business in Philippi.
