Hello Everyone!

Our organization Africa Pathways have started this fundraiser on behalf of Kilimanjaro local guides and porters. My name is Alfred kissinga, Director of Africa Pathways Expeditions, I have spent my life in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania and several years working with the local guides, cooks and porter crews of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Over the course I have witnessed 1st hand, the amazing contribution this team makes to the success of the trip. I have been fortunate to make good friendships.

The Kilimanjaro industry supports hundreds of local workers and their families,COVID-19 has decimated the Kilimanjaro tourism industry and the income that the local people rely on to house and feed their families.

This fundraiser will benefit the approximately 32 local crew members that are in a serious need. Funds will be used to purchase wholesale staple foods such as corn flour, rice, sugar, cooking oil and bar soaps. These will be packaged down and fairly distributed to the local guides and porters. Oversight and logistics will be provided by our team, local lead guide staff and the Kilimanjaro Porter Assistance Project (KPAP) in Moshi.

Every $800 USD raised will provide a staple food basket worth $25 USD to 32 separate crew members. These staples can help feed a family for 1 month. I am hoping to make multiple distributions over the next 2-3 months.

My hope is to provide some basic food assistance to help bridge the gap, and give hope that life will return to a better place in the future. I know that money can be tight, so please know that $5 helps us get closer to the goal! Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll be happy to answer.

On behalf of the whole crew and their families, thank you for your donations!
