This is Julia, an extraordinary woman and a kind soul. For several years she's been co-funding and managing a home for homeless boys in Kenya. Last year however, the project encountered severe difficulties with housing and staff, the entire home was relocated and Julia decided to stay in Kenya to deal with the situation. Since a large amount of the home's funds come from her, money is becoming a pressing matter.

There are 24 boys living in the house today. Many of them fled from their homes due to physical, sexual or psychological abuse, some of them spent several years living in the streets and have a past of drug abuse and deliquency. They've been given a chance to start a new life, and now all the boys are drug free and attend school.

Here is a rough account of expenditure (in SEK):
Rent: 4000 :-
Water: 320 :-
Electricity: 120 :-
Food: 5000 :-
Staff: 4000 :-
School: 5000 :-
Other (transport, medication etc): 2560 :-
Total: 21. 000 :-

I have been supporting the project on and off for about a year and a half now, while I haven't had a chance to visit the home personally, I've been getting regular updates from my amazing friends Frida and Knut, who return and help out, raise money and contribute as much as they possibly can.

This is simply my way of spreading the word and trying to do a little more than just transferring a bit of cash once in a white. Any ammount of money you can spare is helpful.

If you're interested in finding out more about the house and can read Swedish, here is a link to Facebook and to Julia's blog.
