Country Living Project

This venture is to assist five families in purchasing 9 acres of farm land to facilitate independent living in an environment where they can grow crops and be able to sustain themselves from the produce they harvest, as well as to render assistance to persons in need. The property is currently being leased for a short term period, and is being cleaned and cultivated.

Of the five families only 3 persons are employed, however, their income is very inadequate to cover the purchase cost. It was a challenge to generate the cost needed to lease the land and even more challenging to come up with the purchase price. The option of loan was also considered but because of the minimal income, persons are not eligible for any sum that would be sufficient to cover the cost of the land. In addition the cost of loan repayment is not feasible and would be a big hindrance to affording daily amenities.

The intention was to lease the property for long term, making yearly payments because of the inability to afford costs associated with owning lands, however the land owner decided he wants to sell the land since he has no more future plans for it. The land was leased for a year with the intention to continue leasing yearly. The land is a very suitable location and lots of time and energy and funds which were hard to come by were expended on the property. The current lease agreement ends in March of 2022. The owner is giving the families the first priority to purchase the land since they are already engaged in activities on the land. They have been working tremendously hard in making preparations to occupy the premises on a long term basis, however this ambition cannot be made possible unless assistance is urgently rendered in helping to finance the purchase. Any assistance rendered will be greatly appreciated.
