Costa Rica Volunteering Abroad

Hi there!

This summer I want to volunteer with IVHQ in Costa Rica for 3 weeks. As a volunteer on the Healthcare project in Costa Rica, I may work in a range of community care facilities in San Jose, including clinics for disabled children, nursing homes, HIV/AIDS assisted living homes and ambulance services.

I'm 17 years old and a junior in high school. While still young, I have decided that I want to work in the medical field in the future. I believe that this program will help me learn more about this field and expose me to skills that I find useful. I am also a photographer and Costa Rica will give me the opportunity to capture cultural life in Costa Rica while I stay with my host family.

I currently have a part time job but am also taking 4 AP classes in school and so it will be hard for me to find the money to pay for this trip as my family is not financially capable to cover these expenses.
