Costa Rica – Volunteering Teaching English

Having struggled to decide where to go with my future, I settled on my decision of going to uni quite late in the game! I've decided to therefore take a gap year and apply for September 2015. Taking a gap year has always been a sort of dream for me which I never really thought I'd do. But here I am, an almost completely different girl to the 12 year old who said "I'd love to tak a gap year and go volunteer with children in an LEDC." The dream remains, with a whole lot more reality. I've looked into it, read through many different opportunities and fallen in love with the idea of teaching Costa Rican children english. I've been through a fair amount these last few years, and have finally started finding myself. In a trip like this, I do also hope it will help me to discover even more about myself. Theres the honesty, and I do feel somewhat selfish asking for people to help me afford this trip, but I will be forever grateful for every penny donated!   The break down of the costs of this trip are as follows:   Programme Fee: £400 Registration Fee: £149 - This is my first target, so of course, I can actually apply! Flights: £600-£800 (I accounted for £800 in my total amount) Departure Tax: £17 Criminal Background Check: £25 Immersion Week: £200 Travel Insurance: £14 per week = £56 Transport in CR: £1.50 per day = £42 Passport replaced: £81.25 Photos for passport: £7   I've allowed for a little extra in my total amount to be raised, as I fully expect "un"expected costs.   Thank you in advance for all of your donations!
