Costa Rica Christmas Project

Hi, Im Venessa, a university student from Indonesia who's currently studying abroad in Melbourne. Recently, I've been selected by Global Volunteer Network to participate in their Christmas and New Year Project (22/12/13 - 28/12/13)

We will be spending our time in local orpanage. There are various activities at the project such as gift and Christmas preparation for the kids, playing games, and other various activities. I am hoping that by spending time with them in this joyful occasion, I will be able to spread the Christmas spirit and make this year's Christmas special for them.

In addition, this project will not only give the children great experiences that they have never had before but also have a huge impact in my life. To be honest, I really like doing things for others. It makes me feel happy and I've been wanting to do more. Yet, my parents never support my desire to do this kind of volunteering and therefore have been preventing me from it in this past 3 years. Lack of support and discouragement from my family has been stopping me in making changes.

So this year, I am really committed in doing this project and I need support from all of you. With the completion of this project, I hope that they will be able to see what volunteering is about and maybe letting me to do more volunteers in the future (:

I am really looking forward to take a part in this. Please help me to make a difference in the kids' life, and mine. I really appreciate every cents that you are willing to share. With your help, I'll be able to participate in this once a year project and also some extra money for my flight to Costa Rica.
