Campaign Story
I am funding underpriviedged high school students on an adventure of a lifetime - Costa Rica! I am asking that you give any amount that you are able and I will match the funds that are raised on this site. I am not a person of means and I will be working an extra job to come up with my share of the funds. Why? Because many of these students have not traveled beyond their city or state and I believe that travel teaches more than a book. Thiss will be an amazing experience for these students. By experiencing a culture the students will be given the gift of seeing lifestyles outside their community.
While being immersed in the Costa Rican culture these students will be taking a guided tour of Poas Volcano National Park, seeing hot springs and waterfalls in the Arenal Region, and taking a tour of Santa Elena Cloud Forest.
On the trip the students will create a digital journal of their experiences in both video and written formats. The will journal about their personal experiences with culture, history, and interacts with the local community. I know that they students will return to their rural high school and share their experiences with classmates.
