Hello, My name is Michelle Pimentel and I am from San Francisco, CA!

From a young age I knew that helping others was something I wanted to do. As a young adult I struggled to find something I was truly passionate about. Three years ago I was blessed with the opportunity to give back to my community and work directly with a population I knew little about.At first I thought of it as just a job, knowing very little about community health. At the age of 18 I had started my first grown up job and embarked on this journey that gifted me with a new outlook on life. I met people who had endured true tragedy, people who lived on less than $2 a day but who had such a passion for life and who were so thankful to meet people like me who dedicated 8 hours of my day to assiting them in any way possible. I was given a new passion, a passion for community health, for education, for a population that many shrug off and ignore. As the years have passed my need to do more within my community and across the world have grown, and with the help of GVN I have been given the opportunity to visit Costa Rica in the summer of 2014 and focus on health education! It is an opportunity of a lifetime and I hope that with your help I am able to embark on this journey!
