cost of birth

I wanted to add maternity coverage to my insurance plan. However, they said we'd have to wait almost a year for the "open enrollment" time to make that change. Then we'd have to pay the maternity rider on our plan for another year before we'd be allowed to get pregnant & be eligible for the coverage. That's TWO years that the insurance company wants us to wait...ultimately doing this 39 year old's family planning! It's morally wrong, and extremely frustrating. Well, now I AM pregnant & we have no coverage...again, not by choice. We're looking at about $7000 in expenses, and that's IF everything goes as plans (no c-section or complications). I'm asking anyone who is able to help with even a few dollars to lend a hand & lessen our financial burden. We are very excited about our pregnancy, but saddened by the undue financial stress.
