Corrado Restoration

Over the last 11 years I have collected 3 old Volkwagen Corrados, 2 x 1.8 16v's and a G60.  However, despite this I've not had them on the road for more than maybe 2 months collectively, in the case of the G60, never due to MOT failures.

I've never had the money together to restore them and keep them running, with buying a house, getting married and then my daughter there is always something more important than these lovely cars.  My younger brother has shown a great interest in them and despite working very hard he has little spare cash to invest in an old car like this to get it in a decent running order.  1 of the 1.8's is a write off due to an accident but mechanically it is sound.  I want to restore the other 1.8 16v and give it to him as a present.  He's never had much, he was born premature and nearly didn't make it.  Being 10 years older than him and the "man of the house" I raised him, and I am very very proud of the man he has turned in to.  He never stops helping people, he'd give you the shoes off your feet if you needed them, so now is the time to do this for him while I am still able.

The plan:

restore a 1.8 valver for him.

restore G60 for me.

Go on a tour together with our families of the UK, Europe and hit the Nurburgring with him.  

If nothing else, its a good reason to keep 2 old Corrados on the road and maybe, if this works, I can look at turning that written off Corrado into a road legal quad bike!
