Q: Why we created an account with location Vancouver, Canada when this campaign is for Pakistan?

Ans: GoGetFunding doesn't allow to create an account from Pakistan. Therefore, one of our team members in Vancouver, Canada has agreed to create an account for us let us use his PayPal account (necessary to process your donations and not available in Pakistan either) and he will further transfer donations to Pakistan. Rest assured that your donations will be passed on to the needy and we will try to keep it transparent. Feel free to ask for receipts or any other proofs.

Q: Is it Scam?

Ans: No, it is not a Scam. We are a group of four students from one of the best universities from Pakistan (lums.edu.pk) and felt compelled to reach out to the generous people on internet to raise funds to help those who are in need. You can contact any of us for more details.

Q- What is the chain of distribution?

Ans: We have volunteers who help us finding the donors and then we reach out to the needy to for distribution.

We collect the donations and already have found the vendors who are willing to give us better prices as for the cause. We prepare the packets each containing the food mentioned below and ask people in need to pick them up from the pickup location in three different cities in Pakistan, (Lahore, Sheikhupura and Multan).

Our one ration bag will contain food enough for 7 to 10 days.

1. Oil = 5kg
2. Pulses= 5kg
3. Rice= 3kg
4. Flour= 10kg
5. Sugar= 3kg
6. Soaps= 2 bars
7. Hand Sanitisers: 3 bottles of 100mg
8. Milk Packs: 2 bottles of 1 litre each

So far we have distributed ration to 75 families only.

Q- Why you don’t upload videos or pictures while giving the needy people?

Ans: We have received a suggestion from one of our donors to make a video while distributing the ration but our team members have reservations over it as we don't want to hurt someone's self-respect by filming them while distributing food. However, we will look for families who are willing to let us film them and will upload when we will do 2^nd round of distribution.

Corona Aid Pakistan (CAP) an initiative from students of LUMS (https://lums.edu.pk/) aims to battle against hunger in the dire times of a spreading pandemic, the Corona virus (COVID-19). A vast majority of people in Pakistan are barely surviving on their daily wages. With Corona spreading it is almost impossible for them to get new work and in case of a lock-down these dwindling opportunities to earn something will vanish as well. These are the people who will not die from the virus but by starvation.Under one pandemic let's try to avoid another endemic.

We are aiming to provide these people with masks and gloves (prices have doubled) to lessen the spread of this contagious virus. We will provide rations (vegetables, cereals, rice, wheat, spices, oil etc) to such struggling families that are unable to make ends meet in such times. Let's help those who do not have savings. Let's unite in this hard time and make a collective effort to pass this crucial time.

We initially are aiming in providing ration to 200 families and with the help of your kind donations we will increase our target. The main targeted areas are slums of Lahore, Multan and Sheikhupura and the targeted people are "Daily wagers" who don't have jobs these days to feed their children and family.

On daily basis, we will show where the money has been spent.
