Corey’s Son-Rise Program Journey

Hi,

We (Ian Moore & Kevin Bailey) are looking to raise sponsorship for Corey.

Corey is 2 years old and has suspected Autism Spectrum Disorder. Any money raised will go towards a once in a lifetime opportunity for Corey to visit the Sun-Rise Program in America.

This intensive therapy course offers the best opportunity of bringing vhildren through their state of Autism.

To raise sponsorship we will be competing in a 10k obstacle race through mud, water, hills, barbed wire and a multitude of obstacle to make finishing as hard as possible (hopefully we'll make it for the beer at the end!).

We would greatly appreciate any contribution to help towards Corey's journey.

Corey is 2 years old, and has suspected Autism Spectrum Disorder. He is totally non verbal and struggles socially. We (Corey's family) were concerned when by 20 months old, Corey wasn't pulling himself up to stand or even attempting to walk. He still to this day won't play with his toys or feed himself with a spoon. When fronted with a lot of people in a small space, Corey will cry and scream as it's the only way he knows to deal with the situation. He has recently started nursery and he really enjoys it. However, he does struggle to interact with the other children and often takes himself off in a quiet corner and rolls on the floor as this helps to calm him. As you can imagine, it is extremely difficult to watch when all you want for your child is to play with other children and be successful in all they do.All hope is not lost. We have come across the 'Son-Rise Program' which is run by the Autism Treatment Center of America. This program has high success rates of bringing children through their state of Autism by way of intense therapies.  Corey's parents plan to travel to the Autism Treatment Center of America to learn about how to implement these therapies to help Corey through his state of Autism. Obviously, this will cost a lot of money which we can only raise by fundraising. We need to raise around £6000 to cover flights, airport transfers, tuition, lodging and food expenses.
