Reaching out to all our wonderful volunteers and kababayans for immediate aid for the calamity-stricken communities of the recent Taal volcanic eruption last January 12. Since that date, there have been reports from PhilVolcs of an impending eruption that could kill anyone and anything within the 17 km radius of the Taal crated. Over 700 earthquakes and fissures have also been reported over the week.
Thousands of families have been displaced, many animals have been left behind and died. There is lack of access to basic necessities: water, nutritious food, hygiene, beddings and more.
❣️ As of January 17, we have distributed 500 CORA Care Packages (blankets, towels, canned goods, rice, hygiene products), gallons of water, fruits and old clothes to the community of Tanauan Batangas (Tanauan City High School) where over 1,600+ individuals (over 400 families) have been displaced.
Based on last Friday’s situation assessment in Tanauan, Agoncillo, and Batangas City, here are items that are still urgently needed in most evacuation centers:
