Dear past, present, and future friends,

We are the Artivist Network, a collective of arts- activists and facilitators. As the Artivist Network, we believe in the power of supporting the movements in strategically engaging creativity and arts- organizing to create change. Therefore, our work focuses on empowering activists and artists with new skills, networks, tactics, and forms of political intervention particularly on climate justice organizing.

As you may know, we have been organizing ArtSpaces for ten years during the UN Climate Change Conference (COP) in order to support the frontline communities to organize creatively engaged actions both inside and outside of the conference venue. We find, organize and maintain the ArtSpaces throughout the two weeks of the climate summit, and provide basic materials for action creation on a donation basis, as well as providing individualized support in action production. ArtSpaces have become a referent piece of movement infrastructure that each year supports the production of dozens of creative actions to lift up civil society voices, with priority given to indigenous, youth, and global south groups.

NOW we are working on organizing the COP27 ArtSpace in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt and this is where we need your SUPPORT! As this year's COP is in a city with limited civil society, our costs are much higher regarding a venue and access to affordable/recycled materials. Therefore, we are launching this crowdfunding campaign for individuals and groups to support our work.

This donation will be used for securing an art space to create and pay for materials to support actions happening inside the Blue Zone, where most actions are going to be executed over the two weeks of the summit.

We have been organizing ArtSpaces with a very limited budget and capacity every year. Since we set our heart on this project, we will organize this ArtSpace regardless of receiving this funding. However, your support will make our work much easier and support the actions of the movement and make an effect in building a broader and more diversified climate movement.

In solidarity,

The Artivist Network
