Cookie’s Heart Murmur

Hi, my name is Queenie. A month and a half ago, we adopted Cookie, a now 13 week old Golden Retriever.


She is the sweetest little girl, and she is full of life and happiness. She loves meeting new people, and she loves "playing" with her 2 brothers.


A few weeks ago, we were met with heavy news. Cookie has been diagnosed with a heart murmur. Her vet had us return several times for her to hear her heart, and each subsequent time her murmur got louder. After a few X-Rays, she thinks Cookie may have Patent Ductus Arteriosus. Her heart is enlarged, because its working too hard to keep up with her body's needs, and if left untreated, she is looking at heart failure within 1-2 years.


Cookie has brought endless joy in our lives. She brings happiness and comfort to everyone she meets. We love Cookie, and we are looking for help with her surgery and vet fees.

As soon as we found out the severity of her heart murmur, we immediately called to schedule an appointment with a cardiologist.

The initial consultation is going to cost a minimum of $610, including an EKG. They informed us that the cost is likely to increase, depending on any extra diagnostic examinations they need to do on her (Ultrasound, blood tests, etc).

After her official diagnosis, her surgery could be anywhere from $3,000 to $8,000.
