Campaign Story
I would like to make and ship enough cookies to send to the students and teachers of Stoneman Douglas to give them a little bit of sweetness.
That is about 3,200 cookies. I've been overwhelmed trying to figure out the details, but I would like to just start raising the money and I will start baking as soon as there is enough to buy ingredients. Cookies will be two inch heart sugar cookies with colored royal icing. Basic, but nice.
Everything made that does not go towards ingredients, packing, and shipping costs will be donated to an organization committed to gun control. I will be reaching out to people at Stoneman Douglas to see if there is a preferred organization.
My assumption is that shipping will be the most expensive part. I don't know how much cookies will weigh, but I'm hoping we can do multiple large flat rate boxes.
I think eating something homemade can be a really calming and happy experience, even if it's something small, and these kids and teachers absolutely deserve that.
If you would like to volunteer to bake/decorate/pack cookies please let me know. I'd like to coordinate shipping so all of the cookies get there at the same time. I am Chicago based, so ideally we'd ship everything from here, but if you want to bake and you aren't here we'll figure something out.

I may need some more eggs, butter, and brown sugar, but besides that all that's left is bubble wrap and shipping costs!There is still a lot of time

I am hoping we pass it :)I have not personally started baking (I've made a lot of icing), but a couple people already have a bunch

Since I am buying in bulk, figuring out exact amounts needed is not an easy thing to do. I will use anything extra in my business,
