Hello and thank you for being here!
I am Gabz – a trans, non-binary, Brazilian artist and activist. I work mainly with artistic and documentary film and digital photography. My research centers on how gender dissidences challenge and destabilize the status quo. I am the founder of Ser Trans, a co-authored visual storytelling project that represents and celebrates the beauty and power of trans and nonbinary people through photographic essays and interviews.
I am also an avid astrology student and am integrating astrology as a fundamental part of my artistic self, including the practices of listening, learning and reading charts of queer, trans and non-binary people as part of my research.
I am launching this fundraising campaign so I can go to the US and attend the astrology conference NORWAC in Seattle, WA (May 26-30) and my graduation as a somatic leader for SomaSource in Boulder, CO (June 26 - July 23).
By supporting me in this campaign, you are helping me in my continuing education - as an astrologer, a leader, an artist, and a researcher. Your support also assists me to continue my work in expanding support and increasing access to resources for trans people in Brazil. I am seeking to fundraise $5500 in order to cover my travel expenses: flights, food, travel insurance, norwac registration, and living expenses while I am in the US for 2 months.
