We are Andriy and Ruslana - a young, happy and active couple who simply loves raccoons.

Prehistory or How it all began?

It started just a few years ago. Once we went to the zoo with my niece and there I saw close-ups of raccoons. Honestly, there were animals, which I was most impressed by in the zoo. They was so cute and smart animals ,who climbed through the cages and were rinsing their faces, and their masks on the faces, at every glance, fascinated and fooled, and when they took the cookies handles, and I held that one like a child, the gray handle was ... It was just ecstasy and they charmed me completely. Then I said to myself: "I do not know how and when, but I definitely will have a raccoon". That was the first beacon.

Then I met my future wife and when in a conversation on the internet we asked each other about favorite animals, simultaneous response was: "A raccoon"!!!. More over, my future wife even made money on him. That was the second beacon.

Soon we decided to get married and it seemed to me that it was good idea to present a raccoon to my wife,as a wedding present.That was the third beacon!!!

Having sat on the Internet, I talked to many sellers and constantly stumbled upon the deceivers and various scammer (even lost my money) or all the raccoons were booked and I could not afford to buy my favorite raccoon for a year. For long quest, I still managed to find an honest seller, who seemed to have raccoons under the order. Having met, giving a deposit, I hoped that at last we will have a raccoon. Four months later we were called and we went to take our raccoon to the another part of Ukraine. On the spot, there was an apartment, packed with all the cages in which tens and were tormented by tenor even dozens of different animals. There was a darkness of parrots, mice, hamsters, pigs, snakes, spiders and many others. But the worst were the cages where the owls were tight, that the columns were tight on one pole in a row, there were squirrels that had no place where to run and climb, were licewoods, were wolves, and raccoons. In the cage, about a meter long, there were about a dozen little raccoons similar to rats that crawled up looking for mom and sucking each other in search of a hat, beaten to a heap from the cold. All this depiction was very colorful and rich and at the same time , unlimited sums, a pity and terrible protest against such keeping of animals rose in our hearts. I wanted to buy all of them and let them out, but of course,we haven’t much money.

5 raccoons

It was very unfortunate to watch and realize all this depiction, the feeling was very depressed, helpless. We took our raccoon on hands, looking for mom and shelter, he immediately hid under the groin. We thought what we can do in this situation, and at the same time, we came to the idea: "We live in our own house, we have two dogs and two cats have a small yard and there is space too ......". And we, having a little savings and money from the wedding, we decide to buy all of them for little ticks. And they turned out 5: Sirko, Doll, Misha, Lisichka and Stepashka. "Though someone was saved." - At that moment we were happy, not realizing to the end whatthis brilliant spontaneous idea would bring us.

Then there were weekdays, 2 months of feeding with a nipple of porridge, training to the trays, armageddon in the house. From time to time we exhibited photos in the Internet in social networks, showed friends and many people were interested in, people came to look at our raccoons, brought some food, bakes, bananas. The treasures are not indigent in the diet, but they require natural and varied food: meat, fish, eggs, cheese, fruits, nuts, dried fruit, vegetables, dog food and cat, canned food, cereals and more ... Also children from schoolscame to look at the raccoon, then children from the kindergarden and everyone got a sea of joy, enthusiasm and positive emotions. Moreover, the children received a lecture on raccoons and their life and home retention.

The essence of the project.

And we were born the idea of creating a contact zoo " The RACCOON’S House" moreover, since now everything on the Internet is to make it online - to broadcast the life of raccoons on the Internet, so that everyone at any moment could go in and see what the raccoon is doing now. This is our know-how.

Perspective of the project.

The project is definitely promising and winning, because:

• We live in a big city, the cultural capital of western Ukraine - the city of Lviv. The city's population is 750 000 people. The city has no zoo. The nearest zoo "Limpopo" is located 60 km from Lviv in the Stryi direction. There is nodirect connection is there, you can get only with transfers: train, bus. You can only get a good one by car, which is not everyone's own, because not everyone has a car and a road on two sides will cost 350 UAH + incoming tickets for 50 UAH and picking time up is 4 hours.

2. We are located in Lviv, 4km from the city center. It's easy to get there.

3. People have interesting of raccoons, and everyone who know that the raccoons live in ourhouse wantto look at them.

4. Now raccoons arein the trend (and have always been). Even since childhood, we all know the cartoon "Little Brother" and the song "From the Smile". Now the record for the movie "Guardian galaxies" is where the protagonist of the Rocket Raccoon. There is also a movie "All the fault of the raccoon". Enchanted Hearts.

5. We have a contactzoo, we can not only look at it, but also stroke to hold on their hands to take pictures with rabbits, to play and feed.

6. Visitors are given a lecture about who these raccoons are and their lives , how they eat, how to stay them at home.

7. There is an opportunity to take the patronage over the livestock, to come and help us as a volunteer at leisure.

8. Every visitor's child receives a gift, and when a group of children comes in, we arrange a prize drawing quiz.

9. Online - Our know-how is the ability to watch the life of animals when you are at home or anywhere just by connecting from your device to the broadcast. This is a good alternative for parents and children instead of cartoons and games. Also, get away from the workflow in the workplace. After all, raccoons are very cute and always have joy to everyone who looks at them.

The project is definitely promising and winning, because:

Experimentally, "TheRACCOON’S House " is already working at the stage of visitors.

Now visitors come to us, mostly friends and friends of friends, acquaintances, and others. We are currently taking development contributions for an adult up to UAH 120 hryvnas. It brings us up to 1000-1500 UAH (about 100usd) per month and then without any advertising. When we posting ads in social networks, visitors are acclaimed more. This partly helps us to by food for our raccoons.

The sociality of the project.

The social component of the project is visiting children's homes, boarding schools, family-type homeschools, visits to schools and kindergartens, and various events. Also, visits to sick children, invalids, children with DTP, children with autism, visits to rehabilitation centers. Carrying out animation therapy –Raccoon’s THERAPY. And the opposite is the visit of our cats. This is the dissemination of information at the lessons of nature, biology in schools about the life of animals, including raccoons, about the environment, the preservation of the environment in order to live these animals. This is information about keeping animals at home, about responsibility, about equipping them with a decent place and ensuring their lives.

It is a graft of love and care to animals, to nature, to the environment, to the planet as a whole.

The project needs and why we decided to go to the crowdfunding.

Our raccoons have grown and we can not keep them at home. The main problem to be solved is to equip the Raccoon's Home area to provide them with a joyful life. We broke our project into 3 successive stages. And the first and the most necessary stage concerns directly the animals . This is the construction of 3 cages and the repair and arrangement of the adjoining premises for them.

With our forces, we do everything from our dependence and put all the free money into their pets. But with Ukrainian wages and profits all this moves so slowly .And these are animals, they grow and they really need the space.

Therefore, they really need your help. We encourage you to help us to develop our project. Give it acceleration and rapid development. The project development consists of three successive stages:

1st stage

- refers to the life of the raccoons themselves, providing them with the necessary comfortable living conditions: the expansion of their living space, the construction of avenues and their illumination, the installation of aviary ladders, cottages, attractions, a place for bathing and drainage.

Stage 2

- concerns the safety of life of the raccoons and their live coverage online: the installation of safe raccoon racks, the installation of alarms and security systems, of video surveillance cameras and cameras for the illumination of life of the raccoons online on the YouTube channel, the installationbenches,paths, arrangement of the lawn around the cages. It will also improve the life of the raccoons as they will be able to move freely and walk around the lawn, not just in the cage.

Why is it necessary?

This is necessary because "TheRaccoon’s House " is located on the territory of a private house. Around the trees grow and the neighboring neighbors and raccoon are very easy to climb to the top of the tree and climb over the fence, but this is not the worst situation. The worst situation is that neighbors hold large dogs (a German shepherd on one side, a Caucasian shepherd on the other), and these dogs perceive the raccoon as a prey and easily overpower their throat if the raccoon hits them. And a raccoon is an animal that combines a cat, a monkey and a dog in one. Therefore, it is imperative to have a safe fence, such a place where the raccoon will not have to cling to the claw to climb. Ideally, it's polycarbonate on the inside.

Stage 3

Moving raccoons. Buying a car with a booth (whether not new or new) for transporting raccoons to the kindergartens, schools, boarding schools, for example ,- Tavria or Reno Kengo of 2010year. Arranging it for the transportation of raccoons and also for displaying raccoon at various events. We want to make them such a "raccoonsmobil" with pictures of raccoons and the logo of the “House of Raccoons”.

We also need help from volunteers who are able to keep hammer and saw in their hands, and are able to plaster and work with building mixtures. About all such cases, we will notify you of the well-known crowd fans, and we will gladly minimize and reduce the amount of the project, because it is very much needed by our harvests.

Justification of the first stage.

Araccoons is ananimal whichsearchesfood passes 2,5 km, and the range of their hunting is 1-4 km. Now 5 of our raccoons havethe summer aviary of only 9 sq.km.and the winter cage is also only 9 sq. km.When they were small they were completely out of date. Now they have grown and they have very little. Also, our raccoons are constantly interested in parents and children and ask to come get acquainted with raccoons. In such a small enclosure, when people come into existence, raccoons are very scared and for the first half an hour they are simply excited, not allowing themselves to touch. It has very bad effect on their general condition and very stressful animals.We love our raccoons very much and do our best to improve their lives. With your support, we will expand their living space to 36sq. km.(+ 27м²), we will build an additional staircase attractions, suspended ropes, set up a wheel for running, we will construct different huts, make a bath and a toilet with a sewage system. We will also expand their winter enclosure + 9м²We will make repairs for them and arrange an adjoining room. Under such conditions, raccoons will live much better and calm, and the most important thing is happier and more joyful, because they are like children. And when visitors arrive,the raccoons will have enough of their own space to be frightened and to get acquainted with people from their territory.

What we have accomplished.

At the present time, we have grown and picked up from the little 5 wonderful raccoons. We feed them and providejoyful life. We put one enclosure, also turned the plot into a lawn. Also wee created groups in social networks and began to distribute the information about our "TheRaccoon’s House " and invite first visitors.
