Campaign Story
I am a year ten student at St. wilfrids catholic High school in Featherstone and i have been given the opportunity to travel to South Africa with operation wallacea ,along with a few of my peers, to help with volunteer work based on conservation in animal reserves located in South Africa. To do so i must raise a large sum of just over £2500 to cover the expenses of the expedition.
During the first of the two weeks that i will be in South Africa, other volunteers and myself will contribute to vital surveys on land and of the habitats of majorly endangered species native to South Africa. In addition to this, i will take part in collecting data based on a variety of species of birds in order to ensure the population of each species is at a safe, high number. In doing so i will be decreasing the chances of these particular species become endangered or possibly extinct.
In the second week of the expedition, I will be travelling to sodwana bay on the coast of South Africa to undergo a scuba diving course so that i am able to take part in under water coral and fish surveys, collecting data on species of which are currently at high risk of extinction. By doing this data collection, the chances of any of the species becoming exctinct is minimal as problems can be dealt with, with the information i will retrieve.
All donations will be much appreciated and by donating you will be contributing towards the safe future of many species of South Africa. Thank you for taking your time reading this and please donate.
Thank you
