Hello!
First of all, thank you for visiting my page.
My name is Nicole Keen, and I am currently studing Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Computing A levels.
If you have ever visited some of the vast landscapes or rainforests and been overwhelmed by the natural flora and fauna as well as the wildlife, who do you think conserves them? Operation Wallacea!
But why am I fundraising? Because I shall be travelling as a part of Operation Wallacea in July 2016, as this has been organised by my school where I attend sixth form; Furze Platt Senior School, Maidenhead.
What will I be doing out there? I will be carrying out invaluable scientific data collection to be loaded onto the Operation Wallacea database and this data is used to lobby for the conservation of wildlife all over the globe.

My daunting target is £2,600 to fund the expedition. As of January 2015, the first £200 installment is required and I shall be participating in "the brutal 10" to acheive this target. I will also be hosting a beauty evening in March, selling raffle tickets and saving from my Saturdayb job. Basically doing whatever it takes!

Update posted by nikkikeen at 06:21 amFirst of all, a massive thank you to all of those who sponsored me for my first challenge- the Brutal 10. Offline, I raised an extra £165 in generous donations from those at my school and sixth form. My next event is to be on June 6th at Dorney. . . . .
The Brutal 10
Update posted by nikkikeen at 11:43 amAfternoon All, Yesterday I completed the Brutal 10; a mud run in the Army Driving Training Centre Course in Deepcut. I finished in just under 2 hours, with incredibly cold legs and mud splattered all over me. During the two hours, I underwent 10 hill climbs and descents;. . . . .

It's called "The Brutal 10" and entails several mountain climbs, short swims and dips into water over 10km in the Army Driving Training Centre, Bagshot. This course, as the name suggests, is designed for testing vehicles, but in. . . . .
