Comrade Arrested at Anti-Imperialist Rally!

UPDATE: the comrade is free! However, she spent 11 hours in jail because the magistrate and police couldn't muster sufficient evidence to pin any charges on her. 9 hours into her stint, the vindictive cop who arrested her turned over every stone to make sure she was charged with something. Which ended up being a noise violation! So after thinking she faced no charges, she walked out at 6am charged! A clear sign the police were doing everything they could to repress her due to being a defiant, anti-imperialist! On January 9^th, a comrade who was leading chants at an anti-imperialist rally was tackled to the ground by 5 pigs and arrested. The rally at the corner of Trade and Tryon turned into a march through downtown. As the masses were chanting, the pigs rushed in and surrounded the comrade with the megaphone less than two blocks into the march. As she got up, she continued to agitate against not only the oppression of the police, but also US imperialism in the Middle East.

The police attempted to shut down a legal protest that never left the sidewalk even though they claim to protect free speech. They only protect speech that enforces bourgeois rule and protects capitalism-imperialism. Please help by donating generously to support this comrades’ upcoming legal battle.
