Condensed matter research group is the leading research group at Central Department of Physics, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. More than 10 graduate students conduct research each year together with three PhD students and few faculties using facility in Condensed Matter Physics research lab. Since 2010 more than 20 papers have been published in international peer reviewed journals authored by researchers working in this lab and collaboration. This lab is focused in theoretical and computational research in condensed matter physics. At present, the lab is running with small cluster of PC. Condensed matter research lab at CDP has been featured in Nature in
title " Developing world: Far-flung physics" for doing noticeable
research work. To read more please visit
As researchers are dealing with more and more complex problems, everyone working here is feeling lack of proper computational facility. This lack is affecting research work in both quantity and quality.
Therefore, we want to upgrade this lab so that more and more researchers will get chance to conduct their quality research in time. Further, Central Department of Physics does not have computation center yet. Our aim is to develop this lab as computation center for researchers working in any field of physics at this department.
