Complete Comeng’s Home

This is my very close friend Comeng , his wife Rini and their daughter Arumi

I first met Comeng in 2013 when I had lunch at his Warung in Batukaras

He immediately struck me as a genuine good bugger, one of those few that can be trusted,no smoke and mirrors

Comeng was generous and welcoming and we have struck up a very close friendship , like family

the second to last time I was in Batukaras 2018 Comeng had already begun building his house, we had talked about it two years prior, the walls were up and the roof was waiting to be poured

So he asked me if Id like to come and give a hand with the roof on the day

I expected a small handful of guys to be there and what was going on blew me away,

there were at least 30 there, so we all hooked in and with a heap of laughter and graft and good vibes the concrete got bucketed up to the roof and screed out.

This showed me the respect Comeng has in his community, he looks after people and they did in return

Since that day, not a lot has happened apart from a roof over the kitchen area which we sorted together.

With Covid, no tourists, lack of income, its all come to a squeeze

So there's interior work to complete, concrete floors, tiling, painting, ceilings, windows to put in

A few thousand dollars worth of work to square it all away But in our terms actually not a great deal

It would be great to raise somewhere in $7000 range but any amount that can be put together will go to an excellent cause and family and toward a home any of us would be warmly welcomed into.

Comeng has said to me that any of my friends are most welcome to come and stay at his home

Hopefully we shall be able to internationally travel soon
