Compassion for Nepali Children

An interfaith order to bring light, compassion, resources and education to the children of Nepal.

My time in Nepal was life-changing. I plan on going back in December, so please reach out if you'd like to come with me! Of all the amazing experienced I had, none was more moving than my time in South Lumbini (birthplace of Buddha) with these powerful children and new friend, Riyaz. Riyaz has devoted his life to bringing awareness and resources to the children of Lumbini - his home town. During my time there, we met with teachers and principals to discuss their needs. Their immediate answer struck a chord with me, "We need to find a way to ensure the poor, orphaned, and homeless children are educated." Wow. This is the answer of all answers, "We need to look after the most vulnerable among us." YES. WE DO. Then Riyaz asked, "What ideas do you have." Of course, they had a solution, "if we can provide something to eat, the children would show up for food, and in turn, receive an education." We discussed the cost, and when it was all said and done, the cost breakdown was $5/day to feed 70+ kids.

Before I left, we discussed additional needs, and I gave them my word that I'd reach out to my loved ones back home and that we would do whatever we could to help.

Since that day, Riyaz has been working hard to register #CompassionForNepaliChildren as a non-profit and has already received word that the Red Cross has committed to aiding in additional structural support for the school!

The following is a list top to bottom of the current needs of the school and local community. If we don't hit the total goal, we will simply fund the items possible - starting from the top, down.

3. Cook & Teacher Salary = $1,800

4. School Supplies for 70 students = $2,100

5. Two Computers = $700

6. International Nonprofit Registration = $300

7. Supplies for Science class = $500

8. Gardening Supplies = $250

9. Playground = $1,500
