Compassion for Herbert

Last September 4, 2020 Herbert Castro, a 42-year-old son and a friend to many had his life changed forever.

After feeling unwell just a few weeks ago, Herbert was diagnosed with Ossification of Posterior Longitudinal Ligament (OPLL). OPLL is a calcification of the soft tissues that connect the spinal bones which results in a narrowing of the spinal canal and compression of the cervical spinal cord. The doctor recommends immediate operation which will cost him approximately 1,000,000.00 PhP. After the operation, he is looking at a long road of hospital stays and rehab treatments.

Herbert has an amazing passion and zest for life. He is a proud son to a father who is suffering from severe pneumonia and stroke and has been hospitalized for many months and currently bedridden at home with oxygen support. It is financially challenging for Herbert and his family to make the ends meet.

Herbert and his family now need our support moving forward during this heartbreaking and challenging time. This beautiful family has a long road ahead and we hope that with kindness, help and generosity of others, we can help ease their financial burden so they can focus on Herbert’s strength and determination to defy his life changing diagnosis.
