I hope this letter finds you doing well! This has certainly been an extremely big semester for me. I just finished my sophomore year at Oklahoma State University, and am pursuing a degree in Health Promotions, and hoping to continue my education in Chiropractic School. I got engaged to the love of my life on March 17th and we are working on planning our wedding. I have been increasingly involved with my church, University Heights Baptist Church, and through them have been blessed with the opportunity to meet the staff of Compass Wilderness and to join their team as we minister to Junior and High School aged students and help them to discover God’s glory, grace, plan, and purpose for their lives through outdoor activities such as rock climbing, rappelling, hiking, rafting, camping, and exploring God’s creation.
My individual responsibilities this summer will include leading small group devotions, helping with nightly worship services, and guiding groups through various adventure activities. I am so excited to build individual relationships with middle and high school students, and helping them to strengthen their walk with God. This is an amazing opportunity for me to make a difference in the lives of students as well as strengthen my personal relationship with Christ. This summer will be a time of growth and learning for me, and I am so excited to help others learn about the Glory of God.
I ask that you join with me in making a difference in hundreds of student’s lives. The most important thing that I will need from you, your friends, and anybody else you know is prayer. I will be doing God’s will, and I ask that you pray that I will know what to say and how to best be a leader. My first responsibility with this job is to raise $1000 for support for Compass Wilderness to help the camp with maintenance, promotional fees, and staff support. Your gifts will be used to directly aid Compass Wilderness in allowing more campers from any background come through camp, and will help these students learn more about their creator.
I appreciate your consideration and support of my life as well as this ministry. Any and all gifts are completely tax deductible.
